This page is a demo of the various blocks you can use on your own profile page.
First we will show the default blocks, then some shared blocks, and then some custom made blocks.
This block you are reading now is a new text block made by logging in and going to MyProfile (or ViewProfile) and then using the AddMoreBlocks link in the top navigation subMenu. New plain text blocks appear immediately on the bottom of the left column.
On the right here is the main profile picture area. (It will become a slideshow automatically when we fix a cross browser problem). Please make sure you have at least a few images here. To add more you use the ProfileImages link on the subMenu.
Once you have more than 1 profile picture they will become an animated icon on the browse members page. We recommend that you should include at least one image of yourself as it will save you 1000 words of describing who you are.
Next on the right you will see some blocks that have been collapsed to only show the header and a small + button that reveals their content.
This is a great way to save visual space on your page with whatever content you feel is less important.
To collapse a block (after you log in of course) simply click the menu icon in the top left of the block and choose 'Collapse to Header'.
Also on this menu you will see the ability to hide a block from visitors or from members or friends. If you click 'make unavailable to visitors' so that the menu then reads 'make available for visitors' - this means that you have clicked to hide it from anyone who is not logged in as a member.
We have hidden some of the default blocks here simply by making them unavailable to visitors, members, and friends. But when we log in we can still see them and choose to make them visible again.
One of the great features of this site is the shared blocks. These are made by Admin or members can submit appropriate blocks to Admin for inclusion.
To find them you go to AddMoreBlocks/AddSharedBlocks. This will take you to he page where all the Shared Blocks are displayed. You just tick the ones you want on your page and then go to the top or the bottom to find the 'Add' button.
Removing them from your page if you ever want to is simply a matter of clicking the menu in the top left of the block and choosing 'remove'.
The block on the right here is a collection of Mp3s by the wonderful Deva Premal and Miten. These are Mp3s available elsewhere on the web and collected into a player like this using the free service of www.playlist.com.
This one is a shared block but if you want to make your own playlist you can then copy the embed code provided by playlist.com and paste it into your own html block by going to AddMoreBlocks/MakeHTMLblock
On the AddMoreBlocks/AddSharedBlocks page there is this little block that displays the two web links you created when filling out the join form, or else they can be edited on the EditProfile page.
Once you have filled out these fields and added this block to your page the links should work and open the new site in a new tab or window.
This is a Sacre Geometry flash animation made by Firebird. For more about Sacred Geometry and why it is important at this time go to www.birdtribes.net/sacredgeometry.htm
We are working on providing this and similar little animations for you to embed on other websites, your own, MySpace, Facebook, etc. They will be customisable so that they link back directly to your own One Earth profile page.
A little widget powered by BabelFish. Try it out. Not all the languages work but most of them do. This is a great way to encourage truly global participation. It may not be perfect translation but its a lot better than nothing.
Still in the shared blocks - the popular Rainbow Galaxy animation.
Again this one is in a shared block - but any widget you find on the web will most likely work inside a new html block. Just get the embed code of the widget and go to AddMoreBlocks/AddHtmlBlock. Paste the code into the box provided.
.
Also from the Shared Blocks page - displays today's Dreamspell sign and allows you to calculate your own birth glyph
The application below displays todays Mayan calendar Dreamspell glyph. You can also use it to find your own Galactic Signature by entering your birthdate. Once you have calculated your sign type it into Google inside quotation marks or go to this good site astrodreamadvisor.com
and get more detail about interpretation from their other pages Mayan-Pages
For more info about the Dreamspell and the Mayan calendar visit TimeIsArt or LawOfTime
